Lake-Sacheen is located in Pend Oreille County in northeast Washington. Sacheen is a Salish Indian word loosely translated to mean "beautiful lake of many fallen trees." Lake Sacheen is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts with its four seasons of unsurpassed beauty and recreational opportunities. This wild and beautiful place lies in the northeast corner of the state where the entire population numbers just 12,000 full-time residents. There are 55 lakes, thousands of acres of forest, and mountains that peak at 7,300 feet in Pend Oreille County. Throughout the county, history is found in old mines, logging camps, pioneer homes, and historical buildings. Deer, elk, black bear, mountain goat, caribou, bighorn sheep, mountain lion, moose and even grizzly bear make the mountains their home. Pend Oreille County shares a border with Idaho and Canada and serves as a gateway to some of the Pacific Northwests most spectacular landscapes. Activities around Lake Sacheen include fishing, boating and other water sports, hiking, wildlife viewing, birding, golf and sightseeing. Or simply relax and enjoy the peace and quiet and lovely vistas Lake Sacheen has to offer.
