Rosburg is a census-designated place located in Wahkiakum County in southwest Washington. It has an estimated population of 400 residents. Wahkiakum County is the third smallest county in Washington and is a very picturesque, rural area. As of the April, 2005 census, the population of the entire county was just 3,901 residents. Wahkiakum County is made up of several tiny villages, aside from Rosburg, all with populations under 1,000. The name Wahkiakum means "tall timber" in Chinook. The primary industries in the area are commercial fishing, canneries and logging. Rosburg has a peaceful atmosphere and small town charm, which makes a lovely weekend retreat. You'll be greeted by wide-open views, beautiful farmlands and forests, historical sites, antique shops and other attractions. Outdoor recreation includes fishing, hiking, camping, birding and wildlife viewing and sightseeing. There are many unique places to stay along the lower Columbia River including hotels, vacation rental homes, bed and breakfasts, as well as camping on the river. Rosburg Weather & Climate

Oregon's North Coast has the least sunshine of any area in the state but the gorgeous scenery more than makes up for the lack of sunshine. The northwest region is a heavily timbered area with lots of rainfall much of the year, resulting in lush pastures and rich farmland. Along the coast, the average annual snowfall is only one to three inches, with many years in which there is no measurable amount at all. Thunderstorms can occur in the valleys, but are usually not severe. Major flooding occurs in the coastal streams as a result of several days of moderate to heavy rain. Melting of a heavy snow pack on the Coast Range and/or the Cascades greatly increases the flood potential. The only other severe weather conditions on the Oregon coast are hailstorms, which are generally light and cover very small areas, and occasional high winds.
