Poulsbo
is a popular tourist destination, located on Liberty Bay in Kitsap County in northwest Washington. It is one of the main suburbs of Seattle and has a population of approximately 7,000. Poulsbo, known as "Little Norway," has a long history for immigrants from Scandinavia, particularly Norway and Finland. Downtown Poulsbo reflects this heritage with a Scandinavian theme in its shops and restaurants. One of its local products, Poulsbo Bread, originally made in the local bakery, is now available worldwide. Many visitors arrive in Poulsbo by boat and there are 3 marinas near the town. Downtown Poulsbo is filled with quaint and colorful shops that offer Scandinavian gifts, fine art, antiques, European chocolates, baked goods, gourmet coffee and more. Parking is free in the downtown area. Other things to do include picnicking in the waterfront park, strolling the boardwalk, kayaking, cycling, hiking or just taking in the beautiful scenery as you relax bayside. For more excitement, the city of Seattle and all its many attractions is just a short drive from Poulsbo.

Northwest Washington , near the Puget Sound and San Juan Islands, has a fairly temperate climate. The temperature of the salt water surrounding the islands doesnft vary greatly throughout the seasons, so it helps cool the air surrounding the islands. Northwest Washington experiences frequent cloud cover, fog and drizzle. Misty morning will be followed by partial clearing and occasional showers. An umbrella always comes in handy. Evenings are usually warm with a light ocean breeze. Temperatures range from low 30s in winter to mid 80s in summer. Coastal conditions are generally much more harsh than those in the Puget Sound.
